OSWEGO, NY – Genevieve Baxter, 90, a resident of West Fourth Street, Oswego, passed away Friday July 27, 2012 at St. Luke Health Services.
Born in Port Chester, NY, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Anna (Thompson) Buckland.
She was a member of the VFW Aux 5885 and the American Legion Auxiliary #268.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Earl Baxter; two sisters, Stella McGee and Ella Bacon; a son, Kenneth J. Whitney.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Whitney; a niece, Ann Tripp; grandchildren, Holly Whitney, Kenneth Whitney, Wendy (Paul) Suits and Phillip Whitney; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa Suits, Alec Suits and Caitlin Whitney; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Church.
Calling hours will be held 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
