OSWEGO, NY – Gerald Alan Scharf, 49, of Oswego, passed away early morning on Monday May 13, 2013, due to cancer.
Born in Oswego, he was a graduate of Hannibal High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Gerald was employed with Oswego Hospital for 13 years as an OR Technician in surgery.
He was a prankster at heart and an avid Fox News observer. He will be missed in many ways.
He was a beloved father to Carrie Scharf, husband to Renate Scharf, grandfather to Abby Lynn Butler, son to Donald Scharf and belated Susan Scharf, brother to Stephen Scharf, Joseph Scharf and Dawn Knopp, and a loving and caring family member and friend to many.
Calling hours will be held 4-7p.m., Friday at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
A memorial mass will be held 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church.
