Helen E. Gill, 92

OSWEGO, NY – Helen E. Gill, 92, a former resident of 160 W. Bridge St. and Bishops Commons, both in Oswego, passed away Tuesday evening Aug. 3, 2010, at St. Luke Health Services.

She was born in Oswego and was the daughter of the late George and Frieda Oot Karam.

Mrs. Gill was the widow of the late Francis J. Gill, who died July 7, 2000.

Mrs. Gill had been employed at Stone’s Candy and had retired from Food Services at SUNY Oswego.

She was an avid bowler, enjoyed bingo and was an active communicant of St. Mary’s Church.

Mrs. Gill is survived by four sons, George F. (Marie) Gill of Oswego, Edmund J. (Edith) Gill of New Hartford, David G. (Roberta) Gill of Scriba and Richard L. (Brenda) Gill of Andover; one daughter-in-law, Darlene Gill of Wolcott; one sister, Josephine Morse of Medina; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Daniel P. Gill formerly of Wolcott; three sisters, May Miner, Louise Munski and Alice D’Amico; two brothers, Edmund Karam and Freddie Karam; and one stepbrother, Louis Karam.

Funeral services will be Friday 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are by the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
