J. David Bond, 69

OSWEGO, NY – J. David Bond, 69 and a resident of New Haven passed away Saturday October 20, 2012, at Upstate Medical University Hospital, Syracuse.

He was born in Newport News, Virginia, and was the son of the late James W. and Mary Joyner Bond.

Mr. Bond was raised by his father and step-mother Betty L. Smith.

He was the husband of Nancy Hogan Bond.

Mr. Bond retired from Alcan Rolled Products in 1999 after 35 years of employment as a lab technician.

He was a member of the Syracuse Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, NYS Conservation Club and was an avid hunter.

He enjoyed gardening.

He was a race fan an enjoyed watching both of his sons race at the Oswego Speedway.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael (Debbie) Bond and Robert Bond both of New Haven; seven sisters, Mary Sue (Bill Pittsley) Lavoie of New Haven, Linda Bond (Darrell) Clark of Fulton, Brenda (Scott) McAuslan of Mexico, Roseann (James) Lehtonen of Parish, Penny (Scott) Downing of Volney, Constance Madison of Cameron, Missouri and Marian (Jim) Bogan of Peterburg, Virginia; five brothers, Ronald A. (Jackie) Bond of New Haven, Kevin (Jackie Jodway) of New Haven, Steve Bond of Fulton, Charles Edward (Janet) Sanford of  Chester, Virginia and Carl Wesley Sanford of Chester, Virginia; one grandson, Brandon Bond of Seneca Falls.

Mr. Bond was predeceased by one brother, Bruce Bond; two sisters, Tina and Carolyn Bond; and a nephew, Fred “Buck” Hammond.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9 a.m. at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.

Calling hours will be Tuesday 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
