James D. Kennedy, 76

OSWEGO, NY – James D. Kennedy, 76, a resident of County Route 45, Fulton, passed away Monday November 9, 2015, at Oswego Hospital.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Harry and Helen (Crouch) Kennedy.

He was a retired iron worker for the Local 60.

He loved wildlife and the outdoors.

He enjoyed operating his heavy equipment, his beaver pond, and driving his jeep and 4-wheeler.

Surviving are six daughters, Deborah Kennedy of Fulton, Crystal D. Kennedy of North Carolina, Jennifer (Dan) Eckert of North Carolina, Lori (Bernie) Bacon of Oswego, Jamie (John) Gilbert of North Carolina, and Christina Kennedy Sweet; three sons, Don Kennedy of Fulton, Scott (Debbie) Kennedy of Oswego and Mark Kennedy of Fulton; a brother, Robert (Joyce) Kennedy of Oswego; a sister, Mary Lou Noel (Jan Davidson) of Scriba; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Donald Kennedy; and grandchildren, Kara, Alyssa and Ashley.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Elim Grace Christian Church.

Burial will be in Peck’s Cemetery, Scriba.

Calling hours will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the church, 340 W. First St.,  Oswego.
