James J. Duplessis, 77

OSWEGO, NY –  James J. Duplessis, 77, a resident of Scriba and Florida, passed away Wednesday October 23, 2013, at home.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Rys) Duplessis.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

James retired as an electrician for local I.B.E.W. #328.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge, and was an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed golfing.

He is survived by a daughter, Michele (Jamie) Torbitt of Oswego; two sons, Michael (Kim) Duplessis and Mark Duplessis, both of Oswego; one brother, Joseph M. (Marion) Duplessis Jr. of Oswego; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn (Gauthier) Duplessis in 2003.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Minetto.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Elizabethtown, NY.

Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
