OSWEGO, NY – James R. Lund, 81, a resident of Scriba, passed away Tuesday December 30, 2014, at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse.
Born in Granby, NY, he was the son of the late Robert Lund and Leila (Clyde) Fineout.
He worked at and retired from Alcan after 22 years.
He also retired from the Longshoreman Local 1570A.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, the races and spending time with his family.
He was a US Army veteran who served from 1950-1953. He served as a trustee for the VFW post 5885.
Surviving are his wife, Eleanor (Noyes) Lund; two sons, Michael and David Lund of Oswego; a daughter, Christine Gill of Oswego; a sister, Phyliss Mett of Florida; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Cathryn; a brother, Leslie Lund; and sisters, Lee Caprin and Eileen Allport.
Calling hours will be held 3-6 p.m. Friday at the Nelson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 43 E. Utica St. Oswego or the charity of one’s choice.
