Jean was instrumental in the passage of Nurse Practitioner Legislation in New York State.

She retired in 2011 as the director of the Mary Walker Health Center at SUNY Oswego after a 38-year career dedicated to meeting the needs of students.

She was a voracious reader and traveled extensively with her husband, Joe.

She enjoyed Europe, Australia and China, where she stood on the Great Wall, viewed the Terra Cotta Warriors and traveled down the Yangtze River three months after her ALS diagnosis.

But it was Ireland, and particularly Killarney, where she drank Harp and listened to music at the local pubs which proved to be her favorite.

Jean always looked forward to summer vacations at the beach with her family and winter escapes to Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach.

She was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church for decades.

No one loved the Christmas holidays more than Jean, purchasing gifts all year ’round.

In addition to her devoted husband of 43 years, she is survived by her two loving daughters, Allison Grant of Oswego and Katherine Tschudy of Hamilton, Mass.

Jean is also survived by her sister, Judy Ryan; son-in-law, Peter Tschudy and beloved grandson, Gabriel Joseph, who brought her great joy.

Jean Marie was predeceased by her two brothers, Jimmy and John.

She will be profoundly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
