OSWEGO, NY – John J. “Tim” Pelkey, 84, of Oswego, passed away Wednesday evening July 17,2013.
He was born in Oswego and was the son of the late James W. and Luella Steele Pelkey.
He was the husband of the late Patricia Duguay Pelkey.
Mr. Pelkey had been employed on many local construction projects and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Carpenters’ Local 747 for many years.
He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and also served in the SeaBees.
Mr. Pelkey is survived by granddaughters Rebecca (Thomas) Smith of Oswego and Sarah (Brian Sobus) Pelkey of Fulton; great-grandchildren Jordan and Lily Jean; sister- in-law, Shelia Furletti; son, Patrick (Debbie) Pelkey of Oswego; granddaughter, Susan; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Patricia, he was predeceased by two sons, Timothy (Helen Gordon) Pelkey and Matthew Pelkey; and five brothers.
Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday from the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
