John R. Balcom, 82

OSWEGO, NY – John R. Balcom, 82, a resident of County Route 7 in the town of Oswego, passed away Saturday March 7, 2015, at Oswego Hospital.

John was the son of the late Vann and Ella (King) Balcom.

He lived in Pulaski and Fulton before moving to Oswego in 1973.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a printing department supervisor with the Container Corporation of America in Fulton.

John will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Beckwith) Balcom of Oswego; a daughter, Kim (Byron) Sizemore of Minetto; two sons, Craig (Julie) Balcom of Red Creek and Larry (JoAnn) Balcom of Westchester, Pa.; a brother, Earl (Bertha) Balcom of Mason, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sons, Paul Perry, who died in 2000, and Peter Perry, who died in 2011.

Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.

Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

A calling hour will be held from 6 to 7 Friday, prior to the service, at the funeral home, 112 E. Second St.
