OSWEGO, NY – John T. “Poopsie” D’Arcy, 77, a resident of Simeon-Dewitt Apartments in Oswego, passed away Saturday April 7, 2012, at Upstate Medical Hospital in Syracuse.
Mr. D’Arcy was a graduate of Notre Dame University.
He was an enthusiastic fan of the “Fighting Irish” and the New York Yankees.
He had served as a member of the New York State National Guard.
Mr. D’Arcy was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Oswego.
More than anything else, he loved his children and grandchildren. They were the most important thing in his life.
He is survived by a daughter, Laura (Scott) Bovay, of Oswego; two sons, David D’Arcy of Savannah, Ga., and Christopher (Amy) D’Arcy of Phoenix, NY; and his five grandchildren, Jerod, Jennah and Julia Bovay, and Tyler and Caitlyn D’Arcy.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
