PHOENIX, NY – Leslie F. Corey, 81, of Phoenix, NY, passed away Sunday June 9, 2013.
He was born in Fulton, NY, to Ernest and Editha (Loomis) Corey, and was the youngest of eight children.
He was a licensed minister and pastored the Gilbert Mills, NY, Church for many years.
He retired from the Carpenters’ Union Local 12.
Leslie was a long-standing member of the Grace Assembly of God Church of Syracuse, NY.
Leslie is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ruth O’Neill Corey; his children, Annette (William) Procanick of Clinton, NY, Sharon (Erik) Flichtbeil of Saratoga Springs, NY, Stephen (Cathy) Corey of Syracuse and Noreen Corey of Equatorial Guinea, Africa.
In addition, he leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved seven grandchildren, Elissa, Kristin and Michelle Procanick, Erika (George) Flichtbeil-Young, Rachel Flichtbeil, Jesse and Jai Corey; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Jeremiah Young; many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted on June 29 at 11 a.m. at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix.
Burial will follow the service in Pennellville Cemetery, County Route 54, Pennellville.
In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, there will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: International Deaf Education Association to benefit Manos Felices (Happy Hands) School for the Deaf. A ministry in Equatorial Guinea, run by Noreen Corey.
