Lewis S. Cummins, 77

PHOENIX, NY – Lewis  S. Cummins, 77, of LaMadre Way, Baldwinsville, passed away at the Cunningham Building of Loretto Health and Rehab on Saturday January 26, 2013, with his wife, Beverly, by his side.

He was born in Phoenix to his late parents, Myrtle (Bouck) and Stanley Cummins on June 21, 1935.

He was a graduate of Cato Meridian High School, class of 1954.

Lewis served in the USAF from 1957 to 1961.

He and his late brother, Wiiliam Cummins, had operated a garage together.

Later, Lewis became a bus driver for Cato-Meridian Central Schools, and then a truck driver for Joroleum Co. in Weedsport.

Lewis was a member of the Phoenix Lions Club, Phoenix Senior Citizens and assisted with the Meals on Wheels program in Phoenix.

Surviving are his loving wife of 27 years; his son, Dean Cummins of Cato; three step-children, Michael C. (Sandra) Branch of Charlotte, NC, Alice C. (Mark) Lauber of Central Square and Venett Martin of Phoenix; two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private services were on Monday evening January 28, cremation followed.
