OSWEGO, NY – Loretta M. (Hibbert) Filicia, 66, a long time resident of Oswego, passed away Thursday morning November 22, 2012, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Utica, NY, following, a prolonged illness.
She was born and lived, most of her life in Oswego, and was the daughter of the late John and Lorraine Hibbert.
She enjoyed working with the elderly and her previous job at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Oswego.
She was an avid Scrabble player who liked to read, write, and loved anything and everything having to do with the water and boats.
Ms. Filicia is survived by three daughters, Natalie (Saya) and Eric Legler of Vernon, NY, Tara Saya of Oswego, and Edith (Filicia) and Jay Williams of Skaneateles, NY; and one son, Rocco and Maria (Linn) Saya of Oswego.
She is also survived by one brother, Michael and Brenda Hibbert of Parish, NY; two sisters, Cathy (Hibbert) and Ed Alton of Oswego and Arlene (Hibbert) Moore of Mexico, NY.
She had 21 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, multiple niece and nephews and many great-grand niece and great-grand nephews.
She was well loved for her caring, compassion and wonderful sense of humor that was infectious to all.
Calling hours will be at the Dain – Cullinan Funeral Home Tuesday 6 – 8 p.m.
Services will be immediately following at the funeral home.
Burial will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery Wednesday at 10 a.m.
