OSWEGO, NY – Margaret “Jane” Sharkey, 80, a long-time resident of West Fourth Street in Oswego, died Monday September 21, 2015, at St. Luke’s Nursing Home.
Jane was born in Oswego on February 18, 1935, to her parents, Henry and Anna (Miller) Woods.
She was a life resident.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd Sharkey, on November 4, 2000; a son, Gary L. Sharkey, on July 4, 1977; and a grandson, Andrew Littlefield, on May 22, 1993.
Jane was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Cherie (Craig) Danzer, Ronald Sharkey, William Sharkey, Debra (Erin) Littlefield, Dale (Colleen) Sharkey, Patti (Redouane) Boudissa and Lori Carpentier.
She was the proud grandmother of 20 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and one great-grandchild who is on the way.
She is also survived by her brother, Harold Woods; her sister, Catherine Chillson; and several nieces and nephews.
Jane was also a caregiver to many other children in her home, whom she loved and cared for as her own.
She bowled in several leagues with her family and enjoyed taking trips with them to the casino.
Jane loved watching her grandchildren’s baseball games and also enjoyed watching her sons race.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Rural Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
