Marjorie Chappelle Sicke, 92

Marjorie Chappelle Sicke, 92, of Oswego, NY. And Edgewater, Fl. Passed away on August 23, 2010 at St. Luke Heath Services.

Marjorie was born July 22, 1918, in Waterloo, NY. A 1940 Cortland Graduate, she began her career teaching Physical Education in Romulus, NY. While her husband was serving in the US Navy in California, she coached a variety of sports including boys varsity basketball.

She continued teaching and coaching for Red Creek Central Schools from 1946 to 1962 . Marjorie retired from Mexico Central Schools, NY. in 1973.

A long time swimming instructor at Fair Haven St. Beach Park, she continued to be an active snowmobiler and bowler who delighted in crocheting and creating dolls.

Marjorie and her husband Ken enjoyed their retirement years at their camp at Blind Sodus Bay and then in Edgewater Fl., returning to Oswego in 2008.

She is predeceased in death by her loving husband of 69 years Ken (Lon) and survived by: a brother, George Chappelle of Victor, NY., a son, Daniel of Fair Haven, NY., a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Jr. and Barbara Sicke of Lake Luzerne, NY., grandchildren, Kenneth, Brian and Kaitlin Sicke, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Blind Sodus Bay in the near future.
