OSWEGO, NY – Marjorie H. Zakala, 88, of Constantia and Oswego passed away Wednesday November 28, 2012, at St. Luke Health Services.
She was born in Oswego and was the daughter of the late David and Hazel Eaton Rookey.
Marjorie’s first husband, Frank Golas, died in 1966; and her second husband Andrew, “Hank” Zakala, died in 2002.
Mrs. Zakala had been employed at Marathon Paper Co. and Hammermill.
She was a communicant of St. Paul’s Church.
She is survived by two brothers, David Rookey of Phoenix and Richard Rookey Sr. of Batavia; three sisters, Doris Nalle of Williamsport, Pa., Mary Alice LaBeef of Florida and Rita Fravor of Pulaski; many nieces and nephews including “grandchildren” Alexander and Amanda Rookey.
Funeral services will be Monday 10:30 a.m. from the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. in St. Paul’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
A calling hour will be held Monday 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
