OSWEGO, NY – Mary-Agnes Brown, 86, a resident of Oswego, passed away Saturday June 29, 2013, at Oswego Hospital after an acute illness.
Born in Jamestown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mattie (Pitts) Brown.
She was a professional musician (pianist) and had a long career as a registered nurse in several settings, the last of which was with the Episcopal Mission Society in the Diocese of New York.
She was a lover of people, animals, nature and all things “music.”
Surviving are Marie Pitts-Witzel, first cousin, Ithaca, NY; Dorothy Sanford, second cousin, Jamestown NY/Mineola, Fla.; Jean Brossart, friend, Palmetto, Fla., (deceased);
Edna Robinson, friend, East Elmhurst, NY; June and James Abel, chosen family, Oswego, NY; Holly Abel and Dora Thurlow, chosen family, Oswego, NY;
Janet and Gary Kiser, chosen family, Holland Patent, NY.
Memorial services will be held 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Nelson Funeral Home.
Calling hours will be held 3 to 4:30 p.m. prior to the service, at the funeral home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
