Hingham, MA – Mary Agnes Miller, 96, a resident of Minetto, NY, passed away Wednesday June 22, 2011, at the home of her daughter, in Hingham, Massachusetts.
She was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Albert M. and Mary Grace (Coatta) McHenry.
She was a graduate of Oswego High School and was a life resident of the area.
She married Burney Miller of Fulton on July 17, 1937, and they had been married for nearly 60 years when he died in 1996.
Mary Agnes was a homemaker and caregiver.
She had formerly worked as a bookkeeper, until 1943, with the Diamond Match Co. in Oswego.
She was also a talented artist and seamstress.
Mary Agnes was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Her great-grandchildren called her GiGi.
She was a daily communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Minetto, until failing health required that she live with her daughter in Massachusetts.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Carolyn Miller Jordan and son-in-law, Alexander, of Hingham, MA; two sons, Bernard R. Miller and her daughter-in-law, Susan Allen, of Keene Valley, NY, and Richard M. Miller of Wylie, TX; five grandchildren, Jennifer Jordan of Portland, OR, Michael Jordan of Hingham, MA, Stephanie Jordan Brown of Hyde Park, MA, Aaron Miller of Boston, MA, and Tamara Miller Matteson of Wylie, TX; and four great-grandchildren, Keely Jordan of Hingham, MA, Jacob Jordan Brown of Hyde Park, MA, Kristal Perrine of Wylie, TX, and Eva Matteson of Wylie, TX.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Minetto.
There will be no calling hours.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
