OSWEGO, NY – Mary Susanne Lagoe, 69, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Saturday June 21, 2014, after a short battle with cancer.
She was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Mildred (Benzing) Lagoe, and Leo “Poli” Lagoe.
She was also predeceased by her husband, Dwight Dedmond, of Poteau, Okla.
She is survived by her brother, Leo J. Lagoe of Oswego; her aunt, Sister Alice Roberta Benzing of Lathrop; and her cousin, Sister Mary Alice St. John of Oswego.
She was a 1963 graduate of Oswego Catholic High School, and later graduated from Albany Memorial Hospital Nursing School.
She then joined Eastern Airlines, and served as a flight attendant for 20 years.
After the death of her husband, she returned to Oswego and recertified her RN nursing license.
She then worked for St. Luke Health Services, from which she retired after many years of service.
She had been a member of the Oswego Elks, BPOE #271, for the past 13 years.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, in St. Paul’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, or to a cancer prevention or support fund of choice.
Arrangements are in care of the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Oswego.
