PHOENIX, NY – Maudie M. (Spady) Jacobs, 74, of Phoenix, NY, passed from this life to life eternal on Saturday July 5, 2014, after a long illness.
She was born in Northhampton, Va., to her late parents, Maudie M.(Whitman) and William T. Spady on April 6, 1940.
She graduated Northhampton High School, class of 1958.
Maudie was a 23-year employee of Carrier Corp., Syracuse, retiring in 2000.
She was a member of the Carrier Retirees Association.
She was predeceased by her son, Gregory James Jacobs, on May 13, 1986; and brothers and sisters.
She leaves one surviving son, George Robert Jacobs Jr.; very dearest friends Ron and Mary Smith of Phoenix and Lori and Rick Matot of Phoenix; one sister, Ruth Gladys (William) Smith of Richmond, Va.; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, followed by a 3 p.m. funeral service, at 431 Main St., Phoenix.
Burial will be in Phoenix Rural Cemetery,126 Chestnut St.
