OSWEGO, NY – Michael “Duffy” Susino, 68, of Lakeshore Road, Oswego Town, passed away on Tuesday July 30, 2013, at Oswego Hospital, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late John and Beatrice (Woods) Susino.
Duffy was in construction for more than 50 years.
He retired from the Laborers’ Local #214.
He loved his garden and canning.
Michael is survived by his wife of 45 years, Valerie (Rice) Susino; three children, John Michael Susino of Oswego, Dawn Susino-Acton of Oswego and Sherri (Neal) LaPage of Hannibal; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Keri-Ann, Ricky, Megan, Sydney, Morgan, Beau and Alex; one great-granddaughter Josilyn; a brother-in-law, David Rice; also surviving are his eight brothers and sisters, Joanne (Mike) Naramore, Sue (Leo) Wilder, John (Christine) Susino, William (Theresa) Susino, Kathy (Dan) Abbott, Dawn (Richard) Simoneau, Phil (CC) Susino and Tony (Sherry) Susino; and tons of nieces and nephews; and his youngest four legged dog, Izzy.
Calling hours will be held 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
Burial will be in Hannibal Cemetery.
