Michael F. DeMassi, 69

OSWEGO, NY – Michael F. DeMassi, 69, of Oswego passed away Tuesday morning at his home following a battle with cancer.

Mr. DeMassi was born in Seneca Falls and was the son of the late Frank and Rose DeStefano DeMassi.

Mike was employed by Pittsburgh Testing Laboratories for 17 years, Niagara Mohawk 10 years and National Inspections and Consultants for 10 years.

Mike most enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and extended family and friends.

He was an avid New York Yankees and sports fan. His favorite pass times were playing Texas hold’em, busting chops, fishing, horse racing, daily bets with his buddy, Coop, and playing pinochle.

Mike is survived by his wife, Linda (Deitz) DeMassi,;his children, Christi (Chris) Taylor of New Port Richey, Fla., Therese (Dave) DeMassi and Trisha (Casey) Horne both of Charlotte, NC, Jennifer DeMassi living at home; and his buddy, Trixie; two sisters, Linda (Henry) Burton and Sharon Welch both of Elbridge; one brother, Frank DeMassi Jr. of Cato; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.

In addition to his family, Mike was predeceased by his son, Michael William DeMassi; his twin sister and her husband, Maryanne and George Gasparro; and Brett Townley who was a second son to Mike.

A celebration of his life will be held at the American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St., on Friday between the hours of 3 – 6:45 p.m. with closing prayers and remembrances to begin at 6:45 p.m.
