Molly A. Martin

OSWEGO, NY – Molly A. Martin passed away Thursday April 16, 2015, at University Hospital, Syracuse, after a short illness.

Molly was born in New Paltz, NY, on April 7, 1956.

Molly was a graduate of SUNY Oswego for her undergraduate degree and her CAS in school administration.

She received her Masters in speech/language pathology from Geneseo.

Molly worked as a speech language pathologist for the North Rose Central School District for 20 plus years and previous to that in the Hannibal School District.

Molly was a member of the Red Creek School Board.

She served as the president of the board for many years.

Molly was a member of the West Baptist Church in Oswego.

She was known for her stunning singing voice and sang for many private and public occasions in and around Upstate NY.

Molly was also involved in many community performance groups over the years such as Praise Seven.

Molly was a caring educator who touched many young lives in school and in the community.

Even after retirement, she volunteered for the Red Creek School District.

Molly enjoyed traveling, singing, reading and her involvement in performance and community groups.

Molly is survived by her brother, Matthew, (Rebecca) Martin of Eldbridge, NY; nephew, Scott; niece, Heather; and her beloved dog, Hilde.

She was predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Edythe Martin; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

A celebration of Molly’s life will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the West Baptist Church in Oswego, with a reception to follow.

Calling hours will be held at the Nelson Funeral Home in Oswego, Friday from 3 – 6 p.m.

Donations can be made to the West Baptist Church in Oswego or PAWS Across Oswego County or to a charity of one’s choice.
