OSWEGO, NY – Nellie T. Osetek, 92, a resident of Ellen Street, Oswego, passed away Thursday January 10, 2013, at St. Luke Health Services.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Apolonia (Malez) Lupa.
She worked as a nurse at Oswego Hospital and later as a social worker nurse for Oswego County.
She retired from Kingsford Park Elementary School working as a school nurse teacher.
She was a member of St. Stephen’s altar society, the P.L.A.V., and the quilting group.
She enjoyed golf, ceramics and loved to travel.
Surviving are three sons, John Osetek of Providence, R.I., Anthony (Sue) Osetek of Oswego and Paul (Patricia) Osetek of Oswego; a daughter, Denise Osetek of Oswego; two brothers, Joseph and Paul Lupa both of Oswego; a sister, Bertha Kalafarski of Fulton, 10n grandchildren, Andrea Shortslef, Jamie Shortslef, Kristy Shortslef, Paul Osetek Jr., Meghan Osetek, Lisa Osetek Mazan, Christopher Osetek, Brian Osetek, Stephanie Osetek and Adam Osetek; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, John J. Osetek; two brothers, Peter and John Lupa; and sisters, Helen Cook, Mary Lupa and Sophie Coniski.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stephen’s Church.
Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum, St. Peter’s Cemetery.
