OSWEGO, NY – Pauline A. Carpenter, 86, of Oswego, passed away Saturday October 20, 2012, at St. Luke Health Services, Inc.
She was born in Utica and was the daughter of the late Almerin and Yvonne Duplantie Mahoney.
She was the wife of the late Carleton H. Carpenter Sr., who died on March 22, 2001.
Following the retirement of her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter traveled extensively throughout the United States and Mexico together.
She was a Harborfest Volunteer and was known by many as “Granny.”
She is survived by five daughters Judy A. Pratt, Sandra L. Carpenter, Shirley Lalone, Sue Diesing (Linda Chrisman) all of Oswego and Penny K. Carpenter of Ithaca; five sons, Carleton H. Carpenter Jr. of Rochester, James D. Carpenter of Texas, John F. Carpenter, Michael Carpenter and Tom Carpenter all of Tennessee; one brother, Francis A. (Joyce) Mahoney of North Carolina; 26 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday 11:30 a.m. at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home with Rev. Zach Schewe officiating.
Burial will be in Peck’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Wednesday 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
