Phyllis T. Maniccia, 86

(December 3, 1928 – September 13, 2015)
OSWEGO, NY – Phyllis T. Maniccia, 86, a resident of 32 Montcalm St., Oswego, passed away peacefully Sunday September 13, 2015, at St. Luke Health Services Facility, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred (Clark) Conley.

Phyllis graduated from St. Mary’s School and Oswego High School.

She was employed by the Ross Insurance Agency and later worked in the family business.

Her lifelong vocation was realized in providing a nurturing and loving home life for her family.

Phyllis was an accomplished seamstress, cook, gardener, upholsterer and all-around handywoman.

She enjoyed the company of family and friends and she especially cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Phyllis was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.

She is survived by a brother, John (Shirley) Conley; a sister, Joan (Paul) Lavey, of Oswego; sisters-in-law, Margaret and JoAnne Maniccia of Oswego; daughters, Linda Rose of Saratoga, Nancy (James) Bourdon of Oswego and Mary Cay (Dennis) Donovan of Oswego; a son, Dante J. Maniccia of Oswego; grandchildren, Matthew (My-Lien Le), David (Marianne Natoli) and Emily Bourdon, Katie, Megan and Elizabeth Donovan; great-grandson, Ledger Natoli-Bourdon; great-granddaughter, Hannah Bourdon; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 ½ years, Dante J. Maniccia; and great-grandson, Ezra Natoli-Bourdon.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Church, 103 W. Seventh St., Oswego.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.

Phyllis’ family would like to thank the staff at the Office for the Aging, Gentiva Health Services and St. Luke Heath Services for their exceptionally kind care of Phyllis during her time of need.
