OSWEGO, NY – Richard T. Kray, 84, a resident of Oswego, passed away Wednesday June 18, 2014, at Oswego Hospital.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Anthony and Rose (McLernon) Kray.
Richard was a Staff Sergeant for the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1950-1954.
Richard retried as a service technician for Suburban Propane in Phoenix, NY.
He enjoyed boating and fishing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a communicant at St. Joseph’s Church. He was a member of the Lord’s Light Prayer Community.
Surviving are three daughters, Carolyn Barcomb, Diane (Tom) Murray and Mary (Rodney) Gehan, all of Oswego; four sons, Timothy (Elizabeth) Kray of Florida, Gerald (Linda) Kray, Patrick Kray and James (Marcia) Kray all of Oswego; sisters, Carol (James) Regan, Marlene (Frank) Winchek, Kathleen (Robert) AuClair and Margaret (Robert) Izyk, all of Oswego; brother, Michael (Kathy) Kray of Oswego; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Frances Lillian (Boyer) Kray; his sister, Mary Graham; and his brother, Bobby Kray.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
