Robert C. Buchanan, 80

OSWEGO, NY – Robert C. Buchanan, 80, a resident of Merrick Street in Oswego, passed away Wednesday January 16, 2013, at University Hospital in Syracuse.

Mr. Buchanan was born in Canada, and grew up in Napanee, Ontario.

He was the son of the late William and Louise (Sader) Buchanan.

He had lived in Oswego for many years.

He was the husband of the late Winifred “Ginny” (Curran) Buchanan, who died in 2008.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a tow motor driver at the Sealright Corp. in Fulton.

He had also worked as a bus driver with the Golden Sun and the A&E Transport companies.

Mr. Buchanan was an avid hockey fan, and an enthusiastic supporter of the Canadian teams.

He is survived by three daughters, Karen (Thomas) Boni of Oswego, Linda James of Oswego and Debra (John) Rall of Lee Center; a son, Jay (Theresa) Buchanan of Mexico; three sisters, Ella Buchanan, Betty Thompson and Margie Pierce, all of Ontario, Canada; a brother, Jerry Buchanan of Ontario; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday (Jan. 25), at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.

Spring burial will be in Peck’s Cemetery, Scriba.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, at the funeral home, 112 E. Second St. in Oswego.
