Ross Dunsmoor, 87

OSWEGO, NY – Ross Dunsmoor, 87, of West Albany Street, Oswego, passed away Tuesday April 9, 2013, at home.

Born in Oswego Town on October 4, 1925, he was the son of the late Chauncey and Nellie Dunsmoor.

Ross was a retired muck farmer and has been spending his winters in Mesa, Ariz., for more than 30 years.

He served on many committees.

He and his wife, Louise, belonged to the Port City Square Dance Club for 20 years and served as president.

He also served on Cooperative Extension and was president for two years.

He served on A.S.C.S. for 10 years.

He was chairman of trustees for Southwest Oswego United Methodist Church and treasurer for Mesa Church for three years.

He was a member of the Oswego Vegetable Growers.

He currently belonged to the First United Methodist Church in Oswego.

Surviving are his four sons, Ronald (Darlene) Dunsmoor, William (Joyce) Dunsmoor, Thomas (Michelle) Dunsmoor and John (Judy) Dunsmoor; a sister, Lucille O’Connor of Oswego; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Louise Dunsmoor; a son, Danny Dunsmoor; his brothers, Clinton, Richard and Delos “Bud” Dunsmoor; and a sister, Irene Barker.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the Nelson Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at the Hannibal Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 3-7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
