Roy J. Cooper, 87

PHOENIX, NY – Roy  J. Cooper, 87, of Rochester St., Fulton, NY, passed away at Oswego Hospital on Thursday October 11, 2012.

He was born to his late parents, Florence (Wells) and Roy L. Cooper, on February 4, 1925, in Fulton.

He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Roy was a technician in research and development with the Nestle Co., Fulton for 45 years.

He was a member of Phoenix Memorial Post 5540, VFW, and VFW Post 5335 and American Legion Post 164, both in Boynton Beach, Fla.; Callimachus Masonic Lodge 369, Phoenix; past member of the Elks Lodge, 830, Fulton; former president of Nestle’s recreation, office club and credit union.

He was predeceased by his wives, Bessie, Eloise, and Petra or Vivi.

Surviving are his two sons, Roy L. (Janet) Cooper of Fulton and Gary R. (Brenda) Cooper of Newfane, NY; one daughter, Libby (John) McGinley of Phoenix; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Everett (Virginia) Cooper of Lycoming and Arnold (Helen) Cooper of Mesa, Ariz.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, Phoenix.

Services will be conducted on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, 431 Main St., with the Rev. Tammie L. Nipper officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Adnah Cemetery, 706 E. Broadway, Fulton.
