Shirley E. Brownell, 84, a resident of Oswego, passed away, Monday, August 30th, 2010 at St. Luke Health Services.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Edith (Burr) Carey.
Mrs. Brownell was a member of the Oswego Moose Lodge, Oswego VFW and a communicant of St. Paul’s Church.
She was and avid bowler and enjoyed BINGO.
Surviving are three daughters, Cathy (Brian) Gardner of Oswego; Patricia Cory of Oswego and Theresa (Dave) Hinman of Granby; one son, William “Joey†(Michelle) Murray of Granby; a step-daughter, Pamela Wills; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband William Murray and her second husband David “Brownie†Brownell; her son, John Murray; two brothers, Glenn and George Dischinger; a grandson, Kyle Murray and a granddaughter, Jill Sweeting.
Funeral Services will be held 11a.m. Wednesday, September 8th at St. Paul’s Church, Oswego.
Burial will be in Ira Union Cemetery, Granby.
Calling hours will be held 4-8pm. Tuesday, September 7th at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
