PHOENIX, NY – Virginia A. Lewis, 89, of Lake Alfred, Fla., passed away on Saturday March 7, 2015.
She was a Florida resident since 1994.
She was born in the town of Salina to her late parents Nellie R. (Joseph) Meeks and
Gilbert B. Meeks on October 17, 1925.
She was the last child from a family of 10 children.
Virginia was a forklift operator for General Electric Company, Syracuse, for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry J. Lewis, in 2000; her son, William H. Lewis Sr., on February 4, 2009; nine brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her granddaughter, Bonnie K. (Lewis) Lough of Pennellville, NY; two grandsons, William Lewis of Davenport, Fla., and Jeremy Lewis of Georgia; several grand and great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be on March 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 8 p.m. all in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix.
