Albert Reitano, 91

OSWEGO, NY – Albert Reitano, 91, of Oswego, died Thursday November 12, 2015, at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney.

Mr. Reitano was born in Oswego the son of the late Bartolo and Josephine (Famularo) Reitano.

He was a former employee of the Ames Iron Works, of Oswego, and he retired from Mohawk Beverage, Oswego after several years as the bookkeeper.

Mr. Reitano was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church where he was a lector, sang in the choir and was a bingo volunteer.

He was a swimming instructor for many years at the YMCA.

Mr. Reitano studied at St. Bernard’s Seminary in Rochester.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Nancy Reitano, Anna Lewis, Amelia Fitzgerald, Lucille Green and Bart Reitano Jr.

He is survived by and was the beloved uncle to Kenneth Fitzgerald, Thomasina Larson, Linda Klimek, Patricia Sabin, Kathy Carroll, Carol Kidwell and Mark Green.

He is also survived by his great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday November 21, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Gregory Kreinheder.

Private burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Oswego.

The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St. Oswego, NY 13126.
