OSWEGO, NY – Anthony Chillemi, 88, of Oswego, died Tuesday morning April 9, 2013, in St. Luke Health Services, Oswego.
Mr. Chillemi was born in Elizabeth, NJ, the son of the late Joseph and Rosaria (Juiffre) Chillemi.
He had been a resident of Oswego for most of his life.
Mr. Chillemi was a muck farmer in Oswego with his brothers at the Chillemi Brothers Farm.
He served in the United States Airforce with the 330th Bomber Group from 1944 until 1945.
He was a former member of the St. Joseph Golden Age Group.
Mr. Chillemi is survived by his wife, Betty Chillemi of Oswego; stepsons Joseph McConkey of Florida and Martin (Deborah) McConkey of Minetto; brother, Francis Chillemi of Oswego; sister, Mary McLaughlin of Oswego.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Dominic and Joseph Chillemi.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday 9 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday 4 – 6 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.
