Arlene I. Williamson, 89

FULTON, NY – Arlene I. Williamson, 89, of Fulton, passed away peacefully Sunday October 6, 2013, at her son’s home after a short illness.

Mrs. Williamson was born in South Granby to the late Victor and Mildred (Bassett) Austic.

She had remained a resident of Fulton most of her life.

After retiring from Nestles Co., Fulton, Mrs. Williamson began working part-time at Angelo’s Big M in the meat department.

She also worked at EJD in the Phoenix School System as a teacher’s aide.

Mrs. Williamson acted as secretary for Jacksonville Cemetery with her husband as superintendent and then her son successively since 1995 for more than 10 years.

Mrs. Williamson was a member of Little Utica United Methodist Church, Lysander, where she was a member of the choir and the Women’s Club.

She was also a member of the Enoch Thomas Cluster, the Lamson Grange, Lysander, a charter member of the Cody Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and an active member of the Lysander Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Williamson was also an accomplished organ player.

She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Donald Williamson, in 2005; and her brother, Victor W. Austic, in 1980.

Mrs. Williamson is survived by her children: Judy (Harry) Grover and Gary (Jean) Williamson both of Fulton, Mark (Shawn) Williamson of Liverpool and Marty Carlson of Fulton; 12 grandchildren: David (Kerry) Grover, Scott (Keri) Grover, Craig (Becka Rowe) Grover, Travis (Katie) Grover, Saun (Yvette) Williamson, Stacy (William Raymond) Mitchell, Becky (Joe) Sparks, Ashley (Matt Troutman) Williamson, Courtney (Terry West) Williamson, Mark Williamson Jr., Gabby Williamson and Emily Williamson; 19 great-grandchildren: Stephanie, Kelly, Kyle, Bryce, Madison, Blake, Josh, Korena, Kenidee, Kyla, Breanna, Caitlyn, Keely, Saun “Tommy,” Hope, Zoie, Brooke, Blake and Lillian; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Little Utica United Methodist Church, Lysander, with Rev. Michaela St. Marie and Rev. Donald Easton officiating.

Burial will be held in Jacksonville Rural Cemetery, Lysander.

There will be no calling hours.
