FULTON — Arlene M. Jenkins, 97, died peacefully Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, at her home with her family by her side.
Born in Fulton, she was the daughter of the late Arthur W. and Agnes (LePine) Burnett and remained a lifelong resident.
Jenkins volunteered wherever she was needed, offering a smile and a greeting. She could be found daily at the A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital snack bar and each year at the Holy Family Bazaar and Holy Trinity Festival. She volunteered with Oswego County voter registration for 30 years and, alongside her husband, Warren Jenkins, baked cakes and prepared food for Knights of Columbus fundraisers. She took particular pride in caring for her husband and their daughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Warren Jenkins, in 2021; her sons-in-law, Dennis Holland and William Greene Williams III; and her sister, Barbara MacEwen.
Surviving are her daughters, Carolyn Holland, of Fulton, and Karen Williams, of South Carolina; her grandchildren, John “Jack” Holland and his wife, Elizabeth, and Michele Holland; her great-grandsons, Steven and Keith Holland; and her sisters, Mary Rice, of Syracuse, and Donna James, of Granby.
Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.
