FULTON – Carrie Palmer, 95, formerly of Fulton, passed away peacefully December 14 in California.
Mrs. Palmer was born in Volney, New York, to the late Clinton H. and Ella (Allen) Hall. She was a longtime resident of the area until moving to California to be closer to her family. Mrs. Palmer was past employed with Nestles, Fulton, New York, and she loved being a homemaker, mother, and wife.
Mrs. Palmer was a past member of the Fulton Moose Lodge, Cody Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Lamson Grange, and RSVP. She was a past volunteer at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital and the Hospital Auxiliary, Fulton Lanigan Elementary School, Fulton; the Fulton Tourist Center, United Way, and Harborfest, Oswego. Mrs. Palmer was also a member of the Fulton Women’s Club, Fulton Historical Society, Classic Chix Red Hats, and the Granby and Volney Seniors.
For many years she and her late husband Roland Palmer would spend six months in New York and six months in Florida. After her husband’s death she moved into Towpath Towers, Fulton. Although her heart was in New York she has resided in California the last six years to be closer to her daughter.
Mrs. Palmer was pre-deceased by her husband, Roland, and sons: Roland John Palmer and Randy Palmer.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Sharon and Jim Roberts of California, her brother Cedric Hall of Baldwinsville, New York, and several nieces and nephews.
Due to the national pandemic the family has decided to postpone a local service followed by burial in Jacksonville Cemetery, Lysander, New York, until summer when hopefully it will be safer to travel.
