FULTON – February 16, 2026, Charles Thomas Ellixson III After 78 wonderful and adventurous years, Charles’ journey on this earth has come to an end. Charlie passed away peacefully under the thoughtful care of the Oswego Hospital on February 16th, with his daughter by his side. Born in Fulton, NY to the late Charles T. Ellixson II and Betty (Weske) and Paul Phillips, Charles lived a full and beautiful life.
Charles was a true man of the mountain – an outdoorsman to his very core. Charles spent the majority of his life in the woods amongst the trees: camping, fishing, trapping, canoeing, and hunting. He especially loved to camp in North Lake, NY, visit Vermont, and spend quality time with his dear grandson Edwin.
The legend of Charlie will live on through his loved ones: his wife of 48 years: D. Shawn Ellixson of Oswego, NY; their daughters: Morgan Ellixson of Winooski, VT and Valerie Ellixson of Oswego; daughter-in-law: Jennifer Ellixson of Whitesboro, NY; his three siblings: Cindy Jerred of Fulton, NY; Michelene (Earl) Johnson of Forestport, NY and Paul (Annick) Phillips of Stanley, NY; two grandchildren: Edwin Ellixson and Gabby Ellixson as well as several wonderful nieces and nephews.
Charles is now reunited with those that have passed before him: his brother Logan Ellixson, his son Charles “Chuck” Ellixson IV, and his brother-in-law Herb Jerred, along with many dear friends and relatives. Those wishing to share their respects this week may join the Calling Hours from 12 to 2pm on Friday 2/20 at the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton, NY. Charles’ return to the earth will occur in the spring with a Celebration of Life to follow.
