Concetta Donahue

OSWEGO, NY – Concetta “Connie” Donahue, a former resident of East Seneca Street, passed away on Friday November 30, 2012, at the home of her sister, Eileen Schulz, in Central Square.

Born in New York City on May 12, 1917, Connie was the daughter of Salvatore and Grace Grasso.

She moved to Oswego with her family as a young girl and attended Oswego schools.

Connie was a homemaker and a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

She had been employed at several garment mills in Oswego, including Osted, Conde, and Lastlong.

As well as being an accomplished seamstress, Connie liked gardening and was a wonderful cook who enjoyed feeding friends and family.

Connie enjoyed traveling and went on several trips with her husband, Bob, her sister, Josie, and the senior groups from Oswego.

The past several years, Connie has been cared for in the home of her sister, Eileen, with the help of several wonderful aides.

Connie was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Robert; her sister, Josephine Donabella; and her brother, Santo Grasso.

She is survived by her brother, John (Connie) Grasso, of Oswego; sister, Eileen Schulz of Central Square; her sisters-in-law, Mary Smith, Emma Grasso and Agnes (Walt) Foley; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and by many friends and neighbors who called her “Aunt Connie.”

Connie was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and a former member of the St. Anne’s Society.

Connie and Bob are together again!

Funeral services will be Tuesday 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
