
OSWEGO – April 6, 2025, Corabelle Nancy Allen, 85; of Fulton passed away Sunday, April 6th, 2025, at Oswego Hospital, Oswego, NY; after a short illness.
Cora was born in Fulton, NY to the late William and Eva (Clemons) Scoville. She has been a resident of Fulton, NY for most of her life. Corabelle was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was always a hard worker having been employed with TJ’s Diner, Hannibal, the Airport Diner, Fulton and as a Cook at Miller Brewery, Volney, NY. She also worked at Dairy Queen, FL and co-owned and operated Allen’s Fast Food, Fulton during the 1970’s with her late husband Frank Allen Sr. Corabelle was an incredible seamstress and worked at Oswego Industries where she produced the most gowns (800) per day of any other employee accomplishing an amazing 4000+ gowns a week. Mrs. Allen is also known for delivering newspapers for the Herald Journal, Palladium Times, Syracuse Post Standard, Valley News and the Fulton Patriot through all kinds of weather never missing a day for over 15 years. Cora could perfectly throw a wrapped newspaper directly into a mailbox while delivering her route. She loved to bowl and was a member of several local bowling leagues for over 40 years. Cora also liked to crochet and go fishing.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her children: Mary Herzog of Fulton, NY; Manny (Shannon) Allen of Fulton, NY; Frank Allen Jr. of Fulton, NY; Leonard Allen of NC; Martin (Barbette) Allen of Fulton, NY; Aaron (Vickie) Allen of TX; her siblings: Theron (Bonnie) Scoville of Pulaski, NY; and Florence (Raymond) Graham of Fulton, NY; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her fur baby and loyal companion “Bear” (her dog.)
Mrs. Allen is pre-deceased by her son: James Allen, her siblings: William, Dick and Donny Scoville, and Sally Kolb.
Calling Hours will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Friday at the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday in the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., with Rev. Ruth Rosa Warner officiating.
Burial will be conducted privately.
