FULTON – February 28, 2024, Daniel J. Falanga, 58, of Fulton, NY passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 after enduring a short illness.
He was born in Fulton, NY and Danny remained a proud lifetime resident of Fulton. He was the previous owner and operator of Muskies Bar & Grill in Fulton, NY and was most recently a 10+ year employee of PCA in Liverpool, NY. Danny loved sports and was a lifelong Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Danny loved to camp and especially enjoyed his family’s numerous camping trips to Fair Haven State Park. He was an avid fisherman and looked forward to the Bullhead Tournament in Black Lake every year with his friends, and was a six-time Champion having attended and participated for 35 years. Danny also had a deep love of golf and his favorite pastime was being on the golf course with his son Craig. In May of 2023, Dan fulfilled a bucket list item by attending the PGA Tournament at Oak Hill Country Club with his brothers. When he was unable to go golfing Danny enjoyed spending his summers playing BYG with his friends and family, and he was a three-time BYG Master’s Tournament Champion. Danny loved going on unplanned adventures with his daughter Katie, and especially enjoyed their “Route 3 Run”. Family and Friends will miss knowing that from April to October the bonfires at Dan and Wendy’s home will not have Danny there to welcome everyone. He loved to cook, and his chili has been labeled as legendary. Danny was an extremely outgoing man and a devoted friend. He would face a stranger with his winning smile and say, “Dan Falanga, Fulton, NY,” and any person he met came away as his friend. Above all things Danny loved his family, and was unendingly proud of Katie and Craig and of his nieces and nephews. He was also an animal lover and will be missed by his three dogs and companions: Penny, Marty, and Wiley.
Danny was predeceased by his father: James B. Falanga in 1999 and his mother-in-law Catherine Flohr in 2019.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years: Wendy Falanga of Fulton, NY; their two children: Katie Falanga of Atlanta, GA; and Craig (Taryn) Falanga of Charleston, SC; his mother: Mary Falanga of Fulton; Father-in-law: Caleb Flohr of Fulton, his 5 siblings: David (Megan) Falanga of Fulton, Carole Farfaglia of Fulton, James (Nancy) Falanga of Rochester, NY; Richard (Kathy) Falanga of Liverpool, NY and Susan (Bill) Kemp of Sterling, NY and several nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Wednesday, March 6th, 2024, at the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton.
The Funeral Service and Burial will be held privately.
