Dolores A. Smith

OSWEGO – Dolores A. Smith, 77, of Oswego died peacefully at home with her family by her side Saturday August 29, 2026.

Mrs. Smith was born in Jersey City, New Jersey the daughter of the late Roy and Elizabeth (Tohoskey) Haase. Mrs. Smith worked for Oswego County Opportunities, as the house leader, and caregiver to the adult residents. After work she always enjoyed coming home spending time and relaxing with her own family.

Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her husband James Smith, her daughter Laura Strausburg, and siblings Diane Drew and Michael Haase.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her loving children John Wetzel III of Oswego, Patricia Mateer of Oswego, and Roy (Theresa) Wetzel of Fulton. She is also survived by her brother Roy (Drew) Haase of Washington State, sisters Ronnie Haase of Washington DC and Cathy Haase, and her 18 beloved grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and burial will be private.
