Donna Whalen

Donna Whalen, 57; of Oswego, NY passed Friday, September 26, 2025; at St. Luke Health Services, Oswego after courageously fighting an illness.

She was born in Oswego, NY to the late John Whalen Sr., and Mary (Capizzi) Madill (and her stepfather:  Bill Madill.)  Donna remained a life resident of Oswego.  She worked as a Supervisor for Medical Billing with Oswego Hospital, Oswego and Trinity Health, MI.  Donna was a spiritual person who enjoyed quality time with her family and friends; and she was always willing to give a helping hand to everyone.  She took great pleasure watching butterflies and spending time with her cats.  Donna will be remembered by her sense of humor and make people laugh.  Her favorite scent was lavender, so she loved to attend the annual Lavender Festival with her friends.  Donna was very giving and loved Christmas and being “Secret Santa.”  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and those who received her kindness through the years.

Donna is survived by her son:  Shaun Latimer of Oswego, NY; her siblings:  Theresa (Steven) Woolson of Oswego, NY, Michelle “Shelli” Kingsley of SC., Michael (Jackie Gardner) Whalen of Oswego, NY and Colleen (Bill Raymond) Whalen of CO; the father of her son:  Rick Latimer of Oswego, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  She is also survived by her beloved friend:  John Lindsley.

Calling Hours will be held 4:00 to 6:00 PM Wednesday at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4^th St., Oswego, NY.

A Graveside and Burial will be conducted:  9:00 AM Thursday at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego with Rev. John Leo.
