FULTON – May 10, 2025, Dorothy E. Thomas, 99; of Fulton passed peacefully, Saturday, May 10th, 2025, at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney, NY.
Dorothy was born in Minetto, NY to the late Wilson and Velma (Wood) Steele. She has been a longtime resident of Fulton, NY. Mrs. Thomas had previously worked at Birdseye, Fulton; and for the Fulton School District as a Crossing Guard at Phillip St. School. Her passion was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active member with All Saints Episcopal Church’s numerous activities and Altar Guild clocking countless voluntary hours. In the past Dorothy enjoyed being a member of the Shirts and Skirts, Fulton with her husband and dancing partner Ralph. Dorothy was an accomplished seamstress, and she liked quilting and smocking. She also took pleasure in reading.
Mrs. Thomas was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Ralph Thomas, in 2007.
She is survived by her children: Bruce (Karen) Thomas of NC, Brenda (Brian) Arnold of Liverpool, NY and Rebecca (Leslie) Johnson of Fulton, NY; her siblings: Janet Steele of MO and Brien Steele of Mexico, NY; her 6 grandchildren: Krista Thomas, Bryan Thomas, Allison Hubbs, Gregory Arnold, Heather Johnson and Brett Johnson, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be conducted 2:00 to 4:00 PM Saturday, May 31st at All Saint’s Episcopal Church, Corner of Academy St. and South First St., Fulton.
A private Graveside Service will be held in All Saint’s Forever Garden, Fulton, NY.
