Douglas ‘Dougie’ J. Miller, 39

FULTON, NY – Douglas “Dougie” J. Miller, 39, of Fulton, died Sunday August 18, 2013.

He was born in Oswego and he had been resident of San Diego, Calif., for 10 years before moving back to Fulton several years ago.

He attended Herkimer Community College for two years.

Mr. Miller was a commercial and residential painter for 20 years.

He was a Junior Olympic wrestling gold medallist in Southern California, and he enjoyed playing baseball in high school.

Currently he was still involved with the Fulton Men’s League slow-pitch softball.

Mr. Miller was also an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his parents: Douglas I. Miller of Fulton and Jacqueline Miller of Fulton; Paternal grandmother, Joann Miller of Florida; siblings: Cassandra Lawson of Fulton and Gregory Miller of Fulton; five nieces: Brooke, Lindsay, Sydney, McKenna and Jordynn; one great-nephew, Wesely; one great-niece, Isabella; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and a large extended family.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Sugar Funeral Home, 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton, with Rev. Stephen Wirkes officiating.

Burial will be held privately.
