FULTON – Francis E. Loomis, 73, of Fulton died Thursday June 25, 2026 in University Hospital, Syracuse, after a short illness, with his family by his side.
Fran worked at Nestle’s for thirty-three years as a tank room operator until the closing of Nestle’s, he then became superintendent of Riverside Cemetery for fifteen years, taking great care in beautifying the cemetery before his retirement. Fran was an active communicant of the Fulton Alliance Church. He enjoyed listening, singing and playing his guitar to his favorite, Gospel and Country music.
Fran is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years Jo Ann Loomis of Fulton, and their children Julie Loomis of Victor, Jeremy Loomis of Fulton, his beloved grandchildren Austin Loomis, Zackery Woodruff, Kate (Mason) Fiore, great grandchildren Serenity and Onyx Fiore. He is also survived by his siblings Rhonda (Dan Philbeam) Cronk of Hannibal; Gordon Haskins of Oswego; and Leonard (Barb) Merritt of TN, and his special grand dog Brooke.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday June 30,2026 at the Fulton Alliance Church, 1044 NY 48, Fulton. Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery.
The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., Fulton.
