OSWEGO – Francis “Fritz” Ford, age 100, of Fulton, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Seneca Hill Manor, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Fulton, the son of the late Harry and Pyra (Bennett) Ford, and remained a lifelong resident of the city, where he and his late wife, Clara “Tudy” Ford, raised their family. Fritz was a devoted family man who was completely unselfish when it came to his family’s needs. He worked with IBEW Local #328 and Local #43 at nuclear power plants until his retirement. Mr. Ford proudly served in the United States Army during World War II with the 8th Army Division and was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded in service.
He was predeceased by his wife, Clara Ford; his daughter, Carol Ford; and his brother, Donald Ford.
Mr. Ford is survived by his son, Robert (Donna Simmons) Ford of Edgewater, FL; two grandchildren, Michael Ford of Florida, and Lindsay (Michael) Faulkner of Oswego; three great-grandchildren, Brandon Demling, Tanner Demling, and Caitlin Whitney; one great-great-grandchild, Weston Hadcock; his daughter-in-law, Sandra Ford; his niece, Renee (Rob) Warren; and his neighbors and devoted caregivers, Tiffany and Jared Gilles.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., with funeral services immediately following at 4:00 p.m. at Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. Second Street South, Fulton.
