Frank J. Mazzoli, 83

OSWEGO, NY – Frank J. Mazzoli, 83, of Oswego, died Sunday October 18, 2015, at his home with his family at his side.

He was born in Oswego, the son of the late Angelo and Rose (Giaquinto) Mazzoli.

He was the assistant vice president of the Physical Plant at SUNY Oswego until his retirement in September 30, 1990.

Mr. Mazzoli served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

He was a member of the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, the Elks, and the Oswego Snowbelters.

Mr. Mazzoli was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, a past trustee, usher and bingo worker.

He was past president of the Oswego Board of Education and he helped to form the Black Knights drum and bugle corps.

He is survived by his loving family, Katherine Mazzoli of Oswego; daughter, Diane Mazzoli Jones of Oswego; son Frank Mazzoli, of California; brothers,  John (Gloria) Mazzoli of Oswego and George  Mazzoli of New Haven; half-brother, James (Robin) Pagliaroli of Ohio; two grandchildren, Christie and Wesley Michael Jones.

He was predeceased by his siblings: Angelo Mazzoli, Edward Mazzoli, Louis Mazzoli, Florence Coffin, Susan Cernaro, Joseph Piano and Mary Fetheroff; half-brothers: Robert Pagliaroli and Thomas Piano; and half-sister, Frances Laurie.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Church, Oswego, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Guy.

Burial will be held in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego.
