FULTON, NY – Frederic G. Familo, 93, of Liverpool, NY, passed away at home on Wednesday September 18, 2013.
He was born December 25, 1919, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Joseph and Josephine Familo.
Mr. Familo was raised and educated in Oswego, NY, and Detroit.
He had been a resident of Liverpool for 45 years.
Mr. Familo was a United States World War II Army veteran having served from 1943 to 1946 with the Army Engineers in the European and Pacific theatres.
Mr. Familo retired from Carrier Corp., Syracuse in 1982 after 35 years of service.
He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Virginia S. Signorile, in 1999.
Mr. Familo is survived by two sons: Rick (Linda) Familo of Newark, NY, and Edward (Cheryl) Familo of Liverpool, NY; three grandchildren: Kathleen (James) Kellogg, Joseph (Kelley) Familo and Susan (Kenneth) Lathrop; seven great-grandchildren: Michael and Julia Parody, Nicholas and Annalise Familo, Joshua Whipple, Tyler and Marissa Lathrop.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Farone and Son Funeral Home, 1500 Park St., Syracuse, with Rev. Robert Stephenson officiating.
Calling hours will be conducted 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Farone and Son Funeral Home.
Burial with be held in White Chapel Memory Garden. Dewitt, NY.
The NYS Military Forces Honor Guard will bestowed military honors.
